If you farm in the St. Marys Watershed, you should be aware that the Adams and Allen County SWCD have cost-share programs available!
A large portion of those grant funds are devoted to a cost-share program that provides assistance to producers in the St. Marys Watershed to implement Best Management Practices (BMP’s) that focus reducing non-point pollution. Such practices include but are not limited to: cover crops, grassed waterways, filter strips, fencing, gypsum, and equipment modifications.
Cost-share funds will be available with a 75% cost-share to 25% match ratio when BMPs are implemented on land adjacent to or intersected by an open ditch or stream. Cost-share funds will be available with a 65% cost-share to 35% match ratio when BMPs are implemented on all other land in the St. Marys River Watershed.
These programs have been funded by the Clean Water Indiana Grant, through a Great Lakes Commission (GLC) Grant.
This program ends September 2014, so if you are interested please contact us soon!
